Yay! I just picked up my first Oma's Pride order on Thursday night from the home of a rottie breeder, and in it, I have (4) 5# tubes of green tripe! Even though it was frozen, I used a serrated steak knife to make it into slices (about 7-8 slices per roll) for "pre-prepared" meals, and I can't wait to give Monty his first one tonight!
I didn't give him breakfast because we were out field training this morning, and last time, he got so excited, he barfed all over the ground after a water retrieve (try to explain a bunch of pieces of chicken bone to field folks, LOL). So, I just gave him 2 turkey necks after giving him a thorough rinse-off upon arriving home, and after a fundraiser auction/dinner event tonight (we're going, not the pups), he gets his first meal! As I was cutting it up, I gave him a few pieces and he LOVED it!

We had tripe for breakfast today!(well, not me, but the dogs did!)
Is it whole or ground up? When Baloo had his first whole tripe meal (he was used to the ground stuff) he swallowed the chunks too big and ended up barfing all over his bed. Luckily, I was at the LOC that day, so Dan got to clean that one up....:embarrass:

It is all ground up...like getting a roll of hamburger or something.Thankfully, I prepared everything while my SU was in bed so I didn't have to get flack about the smell (which just reminds me of a cattle barn). :vomit:

I use dried tripe as a treat for my crew and I call it "farm" cuz that's what it smells like, lol. Works great for bait...its stinky and the dogs LOVE it!!Originally Posted by CaliforniaLabLover

I just ordered 30 lbs of it from Hare Today. Their shipping cost was the best by far. I can't seem to find any around here locally......
