I've been reading (literaly) my local yellow pages trying to find meat/fish markets/butchers etc.... in my area. I finally found one about 20 min. away. Went there and MAN was I shocked! Their meat/fish is awesome (better than local grocery stores)! We stocked up. I got chicken necks, tripe, beef for soup w/bones (awesome cuts AND they cut it in between the bones for me), pork necks, hamburg (extra lean for only $2,99/lb), chicken thighs/legs (10# for $9), whole tilapia, whole sardines, beef bones, chicken 1/4's (10# for $9), whole skinned rabbit (I thought of Amber with her whole furry rabbits), and cornish game hens. We spent a total of $183 and got almost 1 month worth of food for the 3 boys.
The cuts of meat at this place are awesome. Its for people too so I told Matt we are going to do our own shopping there too.
I can't wait till we get it in the freezer (I'll have to take a picture of it for the other thread). I'm so excited! Of course, the boys are going nuts because they can smell everything and are already looking for dinner!

Sounds great. Was it a meat/fish market that you found or a butcher? All the butchers have died out in my area and the meat/fish markets charge twice the price of the regular supermarkets for the same thing. Sounds like you found a good one with excellent prices.
How long have your dogs been on a raw diet?
It is a meat market (they butcher right there at their store AND they'll cut it how you want it too). They also carry fresh fish and frozen fish. I can also buy by the case too. That'll be our next step. We compared the price of what we were spending on kibble/cans compared to what we bought today and we are saving approximately $20-$30 every 2 weeks. Not to mention how much healthier they appear now compared to kibble/cans and how much more life they seem to have (playing with each other, running around etc.... Even our 6 year old is acting like he was 2 again!).
My boys have been on raw for 5 weeks (tomorrow)!
I don't see us ever going back to kibble/cans again.

Great deals !!
I get mine mostly from a slaughterhouse/meat market. They don't have the whole fish though..,, :-\ but I order by the 40 lb. case. Chicken is 40 cents a lb.

That is wonderful! Being in the mid-west and still enough farms around we still have butchers/processors around. I know I have to get out to get stuff for Caleb soon but boy is it fun when you find stuff!
