My boys have been 100% RAW for about 1 month now. Hunter and Chance have had no problems whatsoever. Yogi, on the other hand, seems to not be tolerating it too well - all of a sudden. For the past 4 days (approx.), he either doesn't want to eat or eats only a little bit. He wasn't even interested in the Bravo chicken (the tube one). He did eat some yesterday morning with a chicken leg, but left most of the Bravo chicken. He even refused to eat ground hamburg (I had mixed in hearts/livers/gizzards and 1 whole egg). Tonight was tripe night. He vomitted it all up (outside, luckily). I have a couple of cans of Merrick left and gave him 1 last night (he hadn't eaten a full meal in a couple of days at that point). He ate that. This morning he ate a little bit again, but not a full meal like he had been doing.
I'm sort of at a loss. He doesn't appear to be sick, only when he eats. Also, one of them (I think Yogi) also had some diarrhea (sp?) - sort of explosive (again, luckily outside). He has great energy, playing with Hunter & Chance, but just not interested in eating. He hasn't even eaten a bisquit we've given him.
Anyone have any thoughts/ideas? I don't want to have to switch him off RAW seeing as the other 2 are doing so well.
Thanks.

My cat, Kiwi, was on raw for about a month when she started having problems. She would vomit occasionally, and eventually lost her appetite altogether (ODD for her - she's my little piggy! :P)
She ended up being diagnosed with pancreatitis, after an acute attack that nearly cost her her life. :-\
I am thankful, as odd as that may sound. The pancreatitis was an underlying condition that she had probably had for a long time, caused by (I think) her being on steroids and various other drugs on and off for years. The raw diet brought it to the forefront (due to the fat levels triggering the acute attack), so that we can deal with it and move on. She has since seen a holistic vet, had a homecooked diet formulated for her and treated with various chinese medicine methods and she looks better now than she ever has.
Hopefully someone else will have a better idea, but that was my experience.

Henry did not do well when I tried to do raw on my own (ie. not prepackaged), but did do just fine on prepackaged, so I'm sure it was something I was doing wrong.

Not every dog will do well on any diet, be it raw, homecooked or commercial. There are hundreds of choices out there, you need to find out the best one for Yogi.
I fed raw for a couple years, and switched back to kibble as a) it was too much prep work and b) tristan was GROSSLY overweight. Balancing fat levels and calories was just too technical for me, so back to kibble we went. Kaylie, my oldest dog is around 14 years old and looks 10.
I tried for a long time with a great deal of help to get Laurice onto raw - for her it was a total no go...her stomach was most unhappy on it ..
Sally has enough immune issues that holistic folks and die hard raw feeders all feel cooked is a better choice for her
cheers
