About once a year I seem to do this--I forgot to defost meat for Caleb last night. Woke up with a start at 5 a.m. thinking that I forgot to defrost something for him for breakfast (that is when he gets his meaty bone meal). So, I let him out and pull stuff out of the freezer and start to defrost it in the microwave--something I don't like to do, but this morning I did. So, got a couple of backs pulled off the frozen chunk and defrosted it a bit more and he was happy. I figure wild dogs/wolves eat frozen meat they find in the snow so it can't be too bad. Not something I would want to do on a regular basis. Poor Caleb just laid there giving me this pathetic look like I was trying to starve him or something. He wouldn't even give me a tail wag until after he had his breakfast! Boy, what a way to wake up!

I often forget to thaw out dinner in advance. I have learned that I can defrost stuff by just filling the sink with hot tap water and letting whatever I want to thaw soak for about 30-45 minutes. Of course I have everything prepackaged dinner sized in ziplock baggies.
