Sorry if this is not the correct forum area for this. Has anyone stopped their dog's chronic itching by the use of Biotin (B vitamin)? My dog has an allergy to something for several months now and a friend said that they use Biotin on their Golden retriever's food daily and it has taken away the itching and the ongoing ear infections. The company said it can take the first full 4 oz bottle before I see results. If anyone has used this, how soon have you seen it work? Thanks.
I would say they lucked out. Skin issues are the most frustrating and resistant conditions to treat!
In general, I would want to rule out systemic yeast first. If it is ears, Pichorriza is a good herbal supplement. Skin: try anything and every thing and hope that you get results. Skin conditions are the first sign of chronic disease and until you find the underlying condition, you will likely have limited results.

I have had success with Biotin but you must give a B com along with it. Body won't absorb one B vitamin alone. I use 300mcg daily of biotin and 1 b com.
I also have used Vit. C to bowel tolerance along with the above.
I believe I originally read about Biotin in Dr. Pitcairns book "holistic care for cats and dogs"
