Well, tonight my boys had whole tilapia (they were gutted). Is that OK? I thought I had seen/read that they can. Please let me know if that's OK.
Personally, I couldn't handle it. I had Matt feed them and he's doing the clean up. I'm skeeved right now. I'll feed them pretty much anything, but whole fish? EWWWWWW!
Thanks.

If you're feeding alot of fish, Tilapia would be ok for variety but is generally not a better kind of fish to feed our labs. It's farm raised and low on Omega 3 fatty oils. A better choice would be salmon, sardines or mackerel for the higher Omega 3 oils.
how many sardines would you recommend for a nice dinner? figure a can or so?
???

Sure, a can would be ok for a pup. Better would be raw fresh sardines if they're available.Originally Posted by WillV341
I tried raw whiting and mackeral and my 5 year old literally runs away from the fish. He does not want any part of fish. The little one gobbles it up. I should enjoy her being an eating machine before she gets picky too.
I can't wait to try fish! It'll be mackerel for us.
My guys have yet to turn their nose up at anything, and if they're anything like their mother, they'll LOVE raw fish!!![]()

Let me know if Baloo eats it. Dale also does not eat liver. Ive mixed it in in a huge bowl of steak, ground beef, gizzards and chicken hearts and he actually picks the liver out and puts it on the floor before he eats anything LOLOriginally Posted by Baloo317
Sardines and anchovies are deffinitely a smaller fish than most. How many would you recommend for a meal? 2-3?
Sorry for the questions but Im going to the store tonight and Im getting a list going...

You would feed whatever the amount is that you normally feed in MM..Originally Posted by WillV341
If they are not use to canned, then I would maybe lessen, and make up the difference with a meat to start. Sometimes the canned mackerel and sardines can be a bit rich for some dogs....I rinse mine also, as the canned fish is usually loaded with sodium...JMO
