Just wondering... would feeding baby food veggies be okay? It would be awfully convenient.
I don't know why not. Keep in mind some people don't feed veggies at all.
Edited to add: I would make sure that they didn't have added salt, sugar, etc.
Most baby food does not have stuff added to it.![]()
I've never feed it, and I haven't even thought about it, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. In fact, people that make their own baby food just puree veggies. I think that would work just fine.
What a great idea !!! My Myia is a picky vege eater...spits them out. I am going to try adding a Baby Food Sweet Potatoe and Pumpkin (if it is available) in the next batch of food I make.
not sure I would substitute baby food for veggies for a dog on a diet. take aloof at the calories before you consider it (there might be some baby veggies low on fat? no fat?). The veggies were just to help the dog "feel full". if she is being picky about them I would say her loss (and I would not give her any baby food or further veggies)
Try green beans. frozen or fresh (canned has salt added wich is not good)
I have given my girl, Breezy, baby food ( green beans, carrots, sweet potato ) but just make sure there is NO garlic or onion powder in it. I buy the Organic baby food; it's just veggies, no salt or onion/garlic powder. What I do with the baby food is put it in her Kong and freeze it. It makes a great low-cal treat in the summer and takes her a while to eat it all because it's frozen. She loves it!!
Try adding frozen string beans and giving less kibble.works well.
