I am the author of a new novel entitled A Breed Apart, a paperback from Dell Publishing. Its central character is a highly intelligent dog, a female black Lab. I just finished this book. It was "heavy" in the medical area and sometimes hard to follow. It was a good read and he is currently working on a 2nd book, which it needs and needs to get into more detail about the dog and her life now.
