Went on a hellacious movie binge over the weekend, catching up w/Hellboy and Hellboy II: The Golden Army.
First off>>> I am totally enamored of the visual style of director Guillermo delToro. Loved him since stumbling into Pan's Labrynth. Weird to say this, but he makes an art out of making monsters.
H2 was a little sillier than H1 (could have done w/out Barry Manilow, thankyouverymuch). And I missed David Hyde Pierce's voice as Abe. But the Troll Market alone was worth the rental. And I will flinch in my sleep for quite some time, worried about Tooth Fairies.....
Can't wait -- CAN'T WAIT!! -- to see what delToro does w/the remake to "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark!"
H1 - 3.5 stars
H2 - 3 stars
