    Default Movie: Paranormal Activity

***WARNING: SPOILER COMMENT AT END OF POST. IF YOU HAVE A WHITE BACKGROUND MUST BE HIGHLIGHTED TO READ (words are white)****

I tried not to listen to the hype so I wouldn't be swayed by it.

A couple are haunted by by strange sounds/events and set up a camera to capture the events.

The movie seems a bit slow, but it's tough to move quick when it's only two people and one or two sets/rooms. The build-up of suspense was good. The camera shake was bad at times. Not as bad as Blair Witch or Cloverleaf because the camera was set on a counter or tri-pod at times during the movie. I didn't find this to be very scary, but I think I may be tough to frighten. The girl I went with jumped and gasped a couple of times.

    SPOLIER COMMENT: HIGHLIGHT TO READ

Do you know the video clip that is supposed to be a car commercial with a ghost if you look real close and then a creepy face suddenly appears in the frame and screams loudly? I think Paranormal Activity is a combo of that clip mixed with The Blair Witch Project. I cracked up laughing at the end of the movie because all I could think was I just paid $7.50 to watch that clip again.

Maybe its creepier if you watch it at home, but I found this movie pretty scary. I don't handle suspense well. I preferred the theatrical ending to the alternate ending. And hubby and I kept yelling at the tv "Turn On the Frickin' Light!!"

just saw it this yesterday. I don't really...get it. not that there is anything to "get" but I didn't quite "like" the ending. Funny how it can be scary when nothing happens LOL! They do good work with the music and such to make it feel really creepy.

So I should try "orphan" then? Is that a good spooky one?
