Sam Rockwell is arrested for the brutal murder of a woman in Massachusetts in the early 80s. Hillary Swank plays his younger sister who adores him and fights to get him out of jail. She sacrifices everything to get her degree and then go to law school to become a lawyer who will represent him and find a way to clear his name.

Not a smarmy as I thought. Actually very powerful. The relationship between these two siblings and how this conviction tore their whole family apart...intense.
