Book: The Passage

Loved this book! I have never read anything with vampires, but it certainly works with this book. (The Passage by Justin Cronin) If you like epic, end-of-the-world stuff, (The Stand) you'll like this. And apparently, it's the first in what will be a trilogy.

First, the unthinkable: a security breach at a secret U.S. government facility unleashes the monstrous product of a chilling military experiment. Then, the unspeakable: a night of chaos and carnage gives way to sunrise on a nation, and ultimately a world, forever altered. All that remains for the stunned survivors is the long fight ahead and a future ruled by fear—of darkness, of death, of a fate far worse.

Okay, I will have to read this just because you compared it to The Stand I absolutely LOST myself in that book- it was great.

I LOVED The Stand but couldn't finish The Passage. It starts off great...I made it about 1/3 of the way through. And then it got so boring and slow I couldn't stay with it. I do hear it picks up again in the last 3rd...might go back to it when I have nothing else to read....
