This is a memoir written by a woman that is sentenced to about a year in federal prison (Danbury) as a result of an old drug charge. The author is a well educated woman who had many advantages, yet made a very costly mistake. It's a very interesting read and made me question some of my assumptions about our prison system and what its purpose is/should be, particularly with regard to "low level" or "non-violent" offenders. A couple other people I know have read it and also liked it a lot.
I read it this past week and really enjoyed it. It was very well written; not whiney or boring like some memoirs can be.Thanks for telling us about this one.
Glad you liked it!
