I guess there are those of you asking: Well, what did you expect?

Not sure. But something with a modicum of intelligence. Heh. Stupid me, I know, considering Roland Emmerich's influence.

And it was so damned repetitive: Cusack (who I really like) speeds toward the camera in a (limo, camper, cessna, bigass Russian plane) while (a road, a dirt road, a runway, Las Vegas) collapses behind him in a (pattern of cracked roadway, rainshower of volcanic bolders, deathcloud of death, utter catastrophe).

It was definitely dumb, though if you have a nice home theater setup it's a pretty nifty bluray to own for the sound and special effects. I wouldn't want to watch it in its entirety again though.

In a word...TERRIBLE!

It has to be one of the worst films I have seen in a while. They could have done lots of great things with the story but instead they seemed to be scrabbling to find a story line at all. I am not sure what was worse....the women talking about a boob job half way through OR the film ending on the bombshell that the little girl no longer needs training pants. Yes, believe it or not I am still talking about this film!

And, just to top it off the visual effects were not that great. I am so glad I did not pay to see it at the movies and only wish I had waited for my free coupon before renting it on DVD.

If you have not watched this already I highly recommend saving your $5 for another rental!
