Movie: Book of Eli

One of 2 post-apocalyptic movies I saw this week. Sigh...

This one starred Denzel Washington 30 years after the wars that ravaged the planet. Pockets of humans still survive...some forming small bands of robbers...others trying to form small towns. Food and water are scarce. Denzel is a man on a journey west...and don't try to stop him. He has some serious sword skills.

One of these towns is run by Gary Oldman. He is hunting for a particular book. He thinks Denzel Washington may have the book he is looking for - a powerful book. He sends Mila Kunis (playing an unrecognizable character from her That 70's Show's Jackie) to try to find out what is going on with Denzel. She is drawn to Denzel's quiet demeanor and ends up following him on his quest.

I thought this was a good movie. Depressing in a Mad-Max view of the future kind of way, but still a good story. Good rental.
