Did certain parts of any book make you uncomfortable? If so, why did you feel that way? Did this lead to a new understanding or awareness of some aspect of your life you might not have thought about before?
Thanks.
Romeo Dallaire's "Shake Hands with the Devil".(the Rwanda genocide and the <in>actions of the UN.) I've never been so upset reading a book before that one... I could only manage a few pages at a time before having to put it away till the next day.
Diana Gabaldon's "Outlander". I read the first one after several of my girlfriends raved about it. Ummm....apparently I'm a prude.

The Hotel New Hampshire by John Irving. The incest between the brother and sister was uncomfortable to get through.

Call me suspicious, but I *think* this is very sophisticated spam.
