Default Looking To Rescue Lab in NJ

    Hi all,

Hubby and I would like a second Lab, and would like to rescue this time. Anyone know of any Labs needing a home in the south Jersey area, or of any Lab rescues in this area? Thanks much!

There is also LRR.org. I have just signed up to be a foster home for labs with them. Good luck!

bebop, are you still looking? Here's a great rescue site and they always have labs. Most are pups, but they do get adults :

Thanks everyone, for all the info and the websites! It is very helpful; and very sad at the same time. My heart breaks at each sweet doggy face that I look at, all of them just wanting to be loved.
Jzgrl......yes, we're still interested, and looking. We are not in a rush or a hurry, as we are still trying to work on Breezy, as far as the training goes. She is almost 16 months old. We were thinking of rescuing a one or two year old Lab, but a puppy isn't out of the question either. I just don't know if we can go thru that puppy stage again! As adorable as they are at that age, it is more work than I ever imagined. We will keep looking and checking around, and hopefully we'll be able to give a Lab-in-need a loving home and family. Thanks for the response!

Catherine, someone just posted in Lab Chat about an adult chocolate needing a home. He's in VT, but that's not that bad of a drive.

    Tides Mom,

I would like to know more about your foster! Male or female? Pure bred or lab mix? Where did he or she come from and why was he or she given up? Can I email you? Please let me know. Anything you can tell me about this labby I would love to hear. Thanks!

I tried sending you a PM but it didn't work.

Freeman is a male, nuetered 11 month old beautiful, almost white, yellow lab (See picture in welcome threads). He's such an amazing dog. He gets along great with EVERYONE he meets. Kids, dogs, men, women, you name it! He knows some basic commands (sit, paw, come) and is crate trained. He also hasn't had one accident in my home. Freeman is a pretty mellow boy too and walks very nicely on a leash. He is such a big mush! He's being adopted through Labs4rescue. Here is the petfinder site.
