Any help or ideas??( Sorry long)

Are their any rescue groups for labs/mixed labs in the Seattle area? My sister lost her husband Oct 13th to a brain aneurysm. Losing him so fast has left her the sole supporter and caregiver of their 8 yr old son. They have a wonderful mixed black lab named Joey who is completely lost in the shuffle due to circumstances and I'm trying to find him a new home. Joey has lived outside for his entire life, and as wonderful as my sister is, she had no idea how much time and attention labs take. Her husband was the one how paid attention to Joey, and now that he is gone I'm know there is no one to do this. For Joey's sanity and my sisters, I need to try and find a home for him with a family who will pay some attention to him. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.Thanks

Try www.petfinder.com if you can search by your state/zip code on the shelter and rescue groups tab, it will list available rescues.

Or the AKCs website lists rescues by breed and state.

Chester's mom: Thanks so much for responding, but the story did have a happy ending. Joey found a GREAT home with a little boy of 12 and his mom. He is being very spoiled to death which is exactly the ending I hoped for. He is now a totally indoor dog and going back to doggy school now for a refresher course, and they are all very happy. Thanks again!
