Need to fine a good home for my 6yr hold Chocolate lab. He has all his shots and is good with kids and adults. Needs to go to a home without other dogs. He has been attacking our little schnug who is only 20lbs. I love him, but unforturnately we can not trust him any more with the other dog. He is a very good and lovable dog otherwise and loves long walks. We live in Glendale Heights, IL. Please if you know anyone asap. I do not want to take him to a shelter.
How long have you had the lab and how long have you had the little dog? Have you talked to a trainer at all? There are ways to improve the relationship between the dogs with training.
If the lab is from a breeder they should be happy to take him back and re home him.
Otherwise, please contact a local rescue that can properly screen homes to ensure he isn't bounced around.

For the record the whole "please take my dog to save him cuz I feel bad about taking him to a shelter" is a cope out. YOU HAVE THE POWER to not take him to the shelter. If this dog is as great and loyal as you say YOU OWE HIM MORE than that, you OWE HIM to find him a new home if you are unwilling to make the situation work.

are there no rescues?
have you tried any training? when did it start and why?
how long have the dogs been together?
I'm guessing this person hasn't tried to make this work at all in form of training or patience. Perhaps this was a last resort in hopes someone here would just take the problem off their hands. Poor dog.

I agree with Tanya. I am friends with Midwest lab rescue on FB and they are a great rescue.

Agreed. This problem can be fixed with training and patience. I was at the dog park with this 120lb Newfie who was a bit aggressive. His owner was on top of it the whole time putting her dog in a down stay at the slightest sign. I totally appreciated the owners patience and effort. Layla(68lb) was a bit mauled out there but I kept an eye on her and she kept on coming back to continue to play. After around 30 minutes between Layla, myself, and the owner we got through all the 'snottiness' the Newfie had in him and the dogs played nice. Dog people are generally 'club like' so they will help when they can. I am guessing in a couple months the Newfie will have excellent dog manners.
hasnt come back?
Not surprised.
