Rambo's skin seems to be a brighter red around the neck area than elsewhere on his body. You cant really see it by just looking at him, but if you seperate his fur you can see redness. Anyone have any ideas on what possible causes are? We do use a prong collar when we take him on walks, and has a normal soft collar on all the time. Any ideas if its something serious? or will it pass over with time...?
My guess would be the collar left on all the time.

Does it get wet often? If so, it should be removed (or changed to a dry one) until it dries. My dog Dryf (lives with parents) has his collar on 24/7 and it gets very stinky, especially when he spends time at the cottage (in teh lake)
Hi my dog got that last summer it was from a combination of how he strains and can't be corrected on a prong collar and also because in the summer he swims and his collar got damp/wet.....take the collar off at night and let the skin breathe if its very red I would see a vet it could be yeast from the same reason
