top lip colour

Charlie is 2.5 yrs old and his formally black nose has lightened. I understand that this is normal but in the last 2 days he's lost the black colour (it's pink) on his top lip straight down from the outside of his nostrils. Is this normal?

This happened to my yellow lab too (sorta). His lip color changed from all black to spotty black and pink all over. It seemed like it happened in a matter of a few days. His nose had changed from black to pink about 6 months before. Vet said it was normal.

Winter nose is normal. I know with my boy, he had an allergic reaction to his plastic bowl as a young dog and lost all the pigment in his lips, up his snout, towards his nose. The vet had NO CLUE. We found the issue in a dog vet book and changed bowls and the original brown came back eventually.

It's pretty well back to normal! I wonder if it was an allergy? What to though??? He's always a mystery!Yes, it does look like your choc's lips. Same fading but a different spot.
