?? allergic reaction ?

My lab is now eating the eagle pack fish food instead of leaving it in the bowl. But yesterday and today she has been wanting to we think clear her throat. She seems to make a sound like we do when we want to clear our throat. She hasn't been chewing at anything in the garden or inside the house. Could she be having a bit if an allergic reaction to the new food?? She is now eating the most of it that she ever has. Any ideas??

The clearing of the throat seems to me to be a symptom of Kennel Cough which seems to be going around (I keep hearing about it).

I should think an allergic reaction is unlikely. I have never heard of a dog developing a cough as a symptom of food allergies. Typical symptoms of a food allergy or intolerance would be dry skin, gunky ears, smelly coat, anal glad problems, etc.
