Hi there, this morning on our potty walk, Lola got stung by a bee just below her eye.
Its starting to swell like a fighter's eye. I can't tell if there's a stinger in or not, as she refuses to let me go near that area. Vet doesn't open for an hour.

Poor Lola!!! It seems like quite a few dogs are getting stung by bees this summer! Hope she'll be ok...let us know what the vet says.

Bendryl NOW!!! Then get her to the vet as soon as they open if it gets any worse. If she's never been stung before watch her close they can be deadly if they are allergic to them.

Vet said give her 2 x 25mg of benadryl (sp?) and ice pack on/off at 10 min. intervals. By the time I left for work the swelling was way down. Checked in at lunch, still slightly swollen, but not like this morning. Whew. Oh, and shes tired/groggy as heck. poor girl.
Thanks for the advice.

Poor baby. The benadryl does work well. I hope her swelling is gone now.
Glad to hear she is feeling better. Please keep an eye on her. I have a labbie that is deathly allergic to bees and was stung last week. He immediatley went ito shock and thank god we have an epi-pen for him otherwise he would not be with us now.
Sydney stuck her nose somewhere and got stung twice. Once on the nose,
and then on the eye. I gave her some Benydril and it helped. I think she
had an allergic reaction to the bee sting though, because she had MASSIVE potty
issues that same day. We are talking everybody out...2 exits...no waiting!!
