Thanks Paola. I dropped her off this morning. Surgery is in progress now. I'm a wreck just waiting for the call that it is over and she is doing ok. I'll keep everyone posted on her recovery.Originally Posted by Paola
She'll be fine. You soon will be wishing she weren't feeling as good. :P It's usually much harder on us than on them.
Surgery is done, she did very well. There were no complications. She had completely detached the ligament, but did not damage the meniscus so it was a straight forward TPLO. She is doing well postoperatively and will be able to come home this afternoonHouse is WAY too empty without her. We were in the process of getting a sibling for her but that is on hold for now until she is finished with her rehab. I will post updates and undoubtably look for advice. I thank you all for your support and information thus far

She came home this afternoon. Resting quietly in her crate right now with several of her favorite chew toys. I wasn't prepared for the x-rays, somehow it is different when you are looking at someone elses dog's leg on a web page. Poor baby.
She may be the queen of the domain, but she wants nothing to do with the "Elizebethan" Collar...LOL
TPLO was in vogue about five years or so ago. Now they've been reporting that the long term outcome is about the same for both fixes. Magnum had the "fishing line" done. She recovered quickly with no complications and runs around like nothing was ever wrong with her now. She had the surgery done last November. It seems so long ago now.
I think with these surgeries a lot of it depends on how good the surgeon is as well.
I hope your pup heals up quickly and completely!
Glad she's doing well. The hardware does look impressive on Xrays. :P
