i'm a bit confused

i've already gotten "reprimanded" for accidentally responding to what was considered an old post (because someone posted a link to it.....) yet i see, an post from 1/10 and answers went back and forth. i've read "dani's rules for newbies" tho i am not a newbie.
so.....what is it? yes, or no, to threads that aren't recent?

nah, i'm not paranoid. or that important. just trying to understand how it operates, as now i look at dates before i respond. it wasnt the "newbies" that responded so i just was a bit confused.tho i see the thread in question and it may have gotten "tangled" with a newbies newish thread. perhaps.
perish the thought i do the wrong thing. (i'm one of those)
