is it normal to feel the backbone but the dog not look underweight? I was petting Bentley and notice I can feel his backbone(not all of it but some parts of it). he has a vet app. tomorrow so i can have my mom ask the vet and see what she thinks but i would like to ask you guys. Should I be worried?
I dont have a good pic of a side shot but in this video there is one

I would not worry Deidra. If you could not feel the backbone, then he'd be too fat. If you could easily see the backbone, then he'd be underweight.

Back from vet. We have a new vet(other one quit..long story) well the new vet LOVES him, lol. Even though bentley was a little scared. Bentley weights 60lb's same as last time so YAY!! The vet said to not worry about the backbone since he is a very fit dog and bentley got a check-up and a clean bill of health![]()

Yay for a clean bill of health! I am still laughing at the reaction Chris had to your ferret!
Life is short, play with your dogs!
