Calorie Needs?

Bean eats a lot of food. He's been on a high quality holistic kibble, eating at least 4 cups a day. That figures to over 2000 calories. He's only about 58 lbs, doesn't work, just wanders around the house and plays fetch a few times a day outside. He is genuinely hungry, not just food-obsessed.
I see that most people here feed around two cups a day, and I know each dog is different, but twice as much food? Does anyone else have a dog that eats a lot?

Both our boys eat a lot (as much if not more than 4 cups a day) but then they are highly active most of the day. Have you had a worm check for him lately?

Mine eats 4 cups a day, but he is 85-90 lbs and most days plays hard at the dog park for a couple hours, plus a walk and backyard play time.

Sophie eats about 3 cups a day and she is 72 lbs. We do put veggies and stuff in her kibble too, so she gets more than just 3 cups.
