Please don't pass on phone numbers when you don't even know what country the OP is in. You are in the UK. The OP is in the USA which makes your info useless. Ringing vet help lines is not the way to deal with ANY health matter. Only a vet can give a correct diagnosis & treatment after a physical examination of the dog. ANYONE who relies on "help lines" to cure their pets illnesses, does so at their own peril & at great risk to the animal.

BTW, I find it suspect that you mention 2 businesses in your first post here. Friends of yours maybe? or do you own them or work for them?

gbro223, I hope your pup is on the road to recovery & you don't have any more problems in the future. That poor pup deserves a break. I'm sure you do too.

An 11 week old puppy is not aggressive. And please stay far far away from Barkbusters. If they are anything like the North American version, baaaaad news.

a 7 (or 10 weeks now) week old puppy is not aggressive. Lab puppies bite, they are mouthy dogs. it is natural and while it hurts wtih those puppy teeth it is NOT aggression.

If the trainer arrives and doesn't say this is just normal puppy biting and show you simple techniques, then send them right back out the door. this is NORMAL PUPPY BEHAVIOR.

I agree that it's not a good idea to get a puppy from an ad.

I got a 7 week old Basset Hound puppy for $50 on Craigs list in October. Thanksgiving day, she began vomiting and had diahrea. I took her to the vet Fiday morning at 7:30 in the morning. She died that evening. It was not parvo, but the vet said her immune system was not working and she had a viral infection of some sort. It was absolutely heartbreaking.

I got Sallie as a companion for Baxter, my small lab after my roomate and her dogs moved out. He was so sad and lonely. Last weekend I adopted a 2 year old rescue. Bella is a black lab/chow. My house is happy once again.

But the lesson I learned from Sallie will always stay with me.
