These Comfortis pills smell really funky. Sophie (who will eat about anything) won't eat them, and they are "supposed" to be chewable! Yesterday, I broke it into pieces, and put them in pieces of hot dog for about 2 hours till they softened inside the weiner. She still was reluctant to eat it, she could smell it, so I put peanut butter on the weiner and bribed her with a little bowl of milk. She finally ate them. Whew! They work so well, and I really want her on it, but they are difficult to get them to eat!

I pulverized the tablet and then mixed it in with canned dog food (which is more of a treat for her). She started to eat it but stopped after a few minutes - she smelled it. Then mixed in some chicken broth and egg. She ate most of it and I figured I'd be happy with that. I don't know what I'm going to do next month. If we give it to her unchewed she throws it back up. Oh well! We're not giving up yet! Prime rib anyone?.....
Both my dogs hate the Comfortis pills! They smell pretty funky! I finally got them down sophie by breaking them into small pieces, poking them inside bits of hot dog, allowing them to sit in the hotdog till soft, and to hide the smell putting a glob of peanut butter on the hotdog. They must really taste awful!! If I break them up and put in kibble they still eat around the pieces.

This works for me. Baxter will not take any kind of pill whatsoever! So I break his heartworm pills into 4. Then I roll them in peanut butter, place the peanut buttered pill on tin foil, then put it in the freezer at night. Give them to him in the morning and he swallows his peanut butter "treats" every time!
