Our eleven month Sophie has a droopy right ear. Vet said that she suffered a burst blood vessel in ear. Recommended not to do anything. Not sure that was answer we were looking for.
Our Heart Dog Maggiemay had that happen. Our vet said only so much of the blood will reabsorb. Sometimes it will even require surgery. Maggie's was swollen and painful for a long while, and gradually started to dry up. It left her ear mis-shapen, but it never bothered her. It happens in floppy-eared dogs. Kind of like cauliflower ear in humans.
Haematomas in Labradors are fairly common. As this is a result of damage to the ear I'm not sure that you will be able to reverse the damage which is probqbly what the vet thinks too.
