Malone (14 months) has had allergy issues from about 4 months - and we switched him to Royal Canin MediCal Potato/Duck food. (which worked but is expensive)
Two months ago I tried to switch him to Acana Pacific (Fish, and Grain-free). He seems to be reacting to that, so now I have decided to switch him over to NB Potato & Duck. Less expensive than Royal Canin.
But.... I was just looking at old threads on this and saw that there was an ingredient change 1.5 years ago - and lots of dogs reacting. Has anyone tried it again? Has it gotten 'better'? I'm worried that it just won't work for him...
When they changed, we switched. So I don't know if it is better or not? Sorry![]()

I have the same problem with Tucker...he too was on Royal Canin and responded well...I switched to Natural Balance a couple of years ago and I have to admit, while his allergies are better than they were pre R/C days, we still battle...in addition to the food, he is on ketoconozole (sp?), Atopica and Hydroxizine (sp?)...poor Tucker has never been "normal"...we are CONSTANTLY battling the allergies...sorry I can't be more helpful![]()
The only way to find out if NB will work for Malone is to try it and see.
Some dogs react badly to food that others do very well on it.
I'd say it's worth a shot...you'll never know if Malone is one of the dogs that will do well on it until you try.
By the way, Nature's Variety has a line of limited ingredient grain free foods that you may want to look into trying also. I believe you can go on their website to check it out and request a $3 off coupon as well. I have NV Instinct Duck & Turkey meal in my girls' rotation, but it's not one of the limited ingredient ones.
