Lola isn't left alone more than 5-6 hours a day. Lately we've even been sleeping on the couch by her, just because we thought the diarrhea might be due to the separation anxiety. However, I think there is another cause because I don't really understand what could cause so much diarrhea. We tried a bland diet for 5 days and noticed a little difference but she still had a couple days with soft stools. We recently went back to her dog food and I dropped another stool sample off at her vet. They told me they found some bunny poop but nothing that would cause any disease or issues, and they told me to keep a better eye on my dog. We always take her out on a leash, and yes, we're not perfect, she gets into things sometimes but not enough for this to be such an issue. I discussed how this has been an issue since we got her 5 months ago and that last night she went 6 times in nine hours, all of which were like a water fountain. My dog at my parents actually eats dead animals (they live in the country) and he doesn't get sick like this. They still told me to keep a better eye on my dog. So today I left for a couple hours to go and get information on different dog food and when I came home she was covered in diarrhea and it was all over her cage. The only other time she ever did this was when we first brought her home at 9weeks and she had coccidia. What could this be? She still has an appetite and isn't vomiting. Is this food allergies, some digestive issue like crohns or colitis, or some issues from when she previously had coccidia? Please help!
Honestly - I would find another vet and get her tested. I'd be out of my mind if my dog had 2 weeks of diarrhea.
Sharon - still not a dude.
Gracie had coccidia as a pup...took 3 stool samples to finally detect it. It took quite some time to get rid of. Prayers for a speedy recovery. Keep us posted.
