    Default Lump on dog's side

My 6 year old lab Tikka has a lump on her side I just noticed the other night. I was petting her and felt it so I investigated. It is about the size of a pea and I can lift it up. It's not attached to anything but the skin. It is kind of hard, but I wouldn't say rock hard. It is located on her rib cage just behind her left front leg/shoulder. She is not overweight at all. She is a fairly lean 65 lbs. She seems to be normal regarding diet and activity. I just had her out retrieving today after work and she was her normal crazy self. I'm hoping it is nothing, but I made an appt to see the vet on Thursday. I'm only asking because it is bugging me and I cannot get into the vet any earlier. And I know it is impossible to diagnose anything, but anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Hope it all goes well at the vets. It could be a Limpoma. Fatty tissue. Even skinny Labs like Ernie get them.

Everything is well. It is a lipoma. That was a stress reliever finding that out! And I made the trip worth it as she got her lymes, distemper and screened for heartworm.
