Hip displaysia question.

The last few days from time to time Ernie is throwing his back leg out to the side as he walks. Does this make sense.
Last week I walked him too far and he was sore. Yeah stupid. I have been resting him and back to gentle walks and swimming.

He does have severe H.D. and has montly injections. His next one is in about 10-12 days.

Any advise or suggestion would be appreciated. TIA.

Swimming is one of the best and least invasive exercises for a HD dog and feeding enough protein to maintain muscle mass to support the joints. I prefer at least 26% protein.

Give him rest for now and see if he improves. Than go back to the swimming. Hopefully his next injection will help a lot.
