Default Moose came up lame in obedience - any suggestions

We did rally excellent and novice obedience today. I think when we did the rally he hit is front leg on the jump - but I did not notice anything. When we were performing in Novice and were running the judge stopped and us and said Moose was limping. We were excused and I went off and checked him out. He does appear to be limping on his front left, but only when he runs - I guess it is the weight.

If anyone has any suggestions on what I could give him to help I would appreciate it. I won't be able to get him into the vet until next week, but was hoping if it is just sore from hitting the jump I could possibly try again tomorrow. I will definately skip rally so he doesn't jump, but would really like to finish his Novice A. Will rest him and make the decision tomorrow.

Ice and rest it. I had a couple bags of frozen veggies I used when Mick hurt his wrist one time. I had him lay on the floor and put one on the injured area for 20 minutes at a time 3 or 4 times a day. My vet had me give him 1 Ecotrin twice a day, too. If it were me, I wouldn't plan on going back to the show tomorrow, tho.

    REST

which sadly does not inclue showing him tomorrow :'(

however risking working him when he's sore is not worth it in my honest op..

if it makes it worse you could have to rest him for a LONG time

Good thoughts for Moose. I hope a little rest will do the trick.

That would be my plan, too.

I know you are all right. I just checked him and he is still limping when we run so I'm not going back tomorrow. If it doesn't look better after tomorrow I'll take him to the vet - hopefully he just strained it and the rest will be enough.
