Last night noticed a knot on Corona's ear. I though a tick. So start to move the hair around and it's actually a big knot. :'( (looks more like a boil) it's pink in color, hard, smaller than a penny, but still big. it's on the flap of her ear near the edge. I know we are going to call the vet today but would like to know if anyone else's babies have had this. she's been shaking her head a couple days now. Ears look fine. today is the day I clean them. it didn't seem to bother her, when I was messing with it.
( along with getting this checked I can ask about the constant licking! )
May be a hematoma, a clot caused when a Lab hits an ear against an object while shaking their head. Hematomas however in my experience are not red so it may be an insect bite. If it is a hematoma I believe it will take surgery to remove it. That was the case with my old Lab Jake.
Let us know what your Vet determines.

Could be a histyocytoma (sp?). Dutch had one at the corner or his ear flap when he was young. It eventually went away on it's own. He has a little indention there now where it used to be. He later got one on his toe, which also went away on it's own. Still a good idea to have the vet take a look.
Hematomas are usually pretty large and not really like bumps. I'm guessing histiocytoma also. Very common in young dogs.
