Just wanted to let you all know that Jed achieved the final "Gold" portion of his CGC last night.
As I've said before over here the CGC award is divided into 3 levels, Bronze, Silver and Gold, and last night my boy achieved it.
I was so proud of him, out of the 12 dogs entered there was only one that passed!!!
His road walk, in the dark no less, was that good..it was the one where you have to walk at 3 different paces when given the command, he was so focused on my face, he tripped down the kerb as we crossed the road.
There was a lot of waiting around for his turn and I am not being biased when I say this...well maybe I am, but he was the only lab, and he did our breed proud, he was by far the best there, even during the food manners test!
At the end the examiner came over to us all and explained how well we had all done, how difficult the gold level is and how she had to be very strict in her marking so as not to make a mockery out of it.
She then went on to say that sadly we had all been unsuccessful this time...except for the black lab who was outstanding!!
You know when you get that pride lump in your throat that doesn't allow you to speak and makes tears well up in your eyes?.......well that was me.
To say I am proud of my boy is indeed an understatement~

Holy cow, this sounds like a *really* hard test! Walking in the dark? FOOD manners? I never thought I'd hear those last two words in a sentence together when speaking of a Lab.
You both deserve BIG congratulations!![]()
