Just wanted to re-introduce my girls

Not sure if anyone remembers me or not, but up until recently everything has been going really well with both Madison and Sarah. Madison is now 13 months old and quite the girl! She's just so smart..and a bit spoiled,lol. Sarah just turned 9 months old just over a week ago. She's the one we adopted back in May when she was around 2 1/2 months old. We just had her spayed last Friday and had her hips x-rayed at the same time. After learning she'd originally been purchased at a pet store, I'd been nervous about how her hips would be. Sarah's hip joints are not good. Our vet explained to me that they like to see 90% of a certain part of the femur in the hip joint... Sarah's is 20%.... my description isn't the best.. sorry. We're just going to take one step at a time to do what's best for Sarah. Madison just loves her sis.. and vise versa. Madison may weigh 50 lbs, Sarah is about 65 lbs. Having 2 labs has sure been busy.. Madison has SO much more energy than Sarah. I think we're also going to have to find Sarah a sweater or something... she just does not like the cold. Here in eastern Oregon it's been pretty chilly lately and we do have some snow on the ground as well. Sarah's favorite place to take her nap is in front of the wood stove on her blanket.

I remember you, holy cow has Sarah grown!!

That's too bad about her hips. Do you supplement with glucosamine, etc? I just started Baloo at 8 months (just as a preventative), and I know others that have dogs with hip problems have had great success with supplementing.

Yes, we've started both girls on supplements. They seem to really like them. Just hope it stays that way.
