Food/Water Bowl Size for Puppy

Okay, I think I have mustered enough courage to go to the giant, overwhelming pet store and start buying the things Ranger will need when he comes home...why rush, he'll only be here in less than three weeks, LOL

About the food and water bowls. I know I should be purchasing stainless steel, but he'll be so little when I bring him home and those bowls won't last for long.

He'll need a larger size in no time and I'll be shopping again and stainless steel is so expensive.

Should start with hard plastic?

Please, help!! The days are ticking down!

I purchased the 2qt stainless steel bowl for food. I've never had to upgrade and it wasn't too large for a puppy. As a matter of fact, I left one at my mom's house and her Chihuahua prefers that over his smaller bowl.

2 qt. stainless steel dishes for food here. We have 2 2qt water dishes on an elevated stand for water. I do not feed my dogs with elevated feeders, just put their water in there.

large size stainless steel bowl, even as a puppy. They grow so fast.
She also has some ceramic ones.

I bought the ceramic bowls but I wnet ahead and got the large size. Tal was 7 weeks when I brought him home and he still uses the same bowls. (I've washed them a time or two since tho..hahaha). I think he would freak if I ever changed his bowls!
