After the loss of our last Labrador Yoskha at 31th of july, i went out searching for a 'new' Labrador Retriever, and the animal shelters didnt have a Labradors available in the region at that time, so i ended up with: "Retriever Rescue" in the Netherlands
There i've found Laika, and if you can see, it's my opinion that she didnt look verry happy on that picture they've posted on their website :-X
So, i ended up as the 4th owner of Laika! :-X
But .... 6 months later, she's doing so well, i think and she to is over here for almost her whole life ;D
And if i take a look at the picture's i've made of her, she always look so happy, and specially on this photo
If i start looking at the picture's, i always ends up with this one![]()
She DOES look so much happier.
Thank you for rescuing her!
Yes Laika has turned in to a verrrrrrrry happy Labrador! 8)Originally Posted by Trickster
A short brief story of her is:
- For ten months in a backyard in Belgium
- After the backyard, they have bring her to the animal shelter
- Then she came by some people over here in the Netherlands who couldnt handle her (they actually never do some thing with her i gues ???
- Laika was trained for some behaviour, such as attacking other dogs when she walks on the leash, they've trained her for one month, and all i can say ... it's a big bull shit! :P
- And finally she came over here at 18th of august 2006 ....
So, let the dog's be dog's!![]()
Awwww she is one HAPPY girl!! Thank you for rescuing her!!
It reminds me of the photos of Emma before she was mine and after. You can see the happiness in their eyes. When Emma lived with my sister she had subdued eyes, after she became mine and now she has those sparkles in her eyes.![]()

Thanks for rescuing Lakia!
I know what you mean about them looking so sad & forlorn in the pics from the shelter or rescue, etc. Lexi looked that way in her rescue photo. I rescued her and she is a happy thriving chocolate labby.
My pretty girl, Lexi!
Awww, she sure does look sad in that first picture. :-\ Thank you for rescuing her, she looks soooooooooooooooo HAPPY!!![]()
Yes!let the dog's be dog's!
You and Laika are so lucky to have found each other.
I am so sorry for your loss of Yoskah. I saw her beautiful pictures in the Senior photo post in the Seniors section.
I've seen all the great photos you post on the other forum of how you take your dog out for walks and hikes. I didn't realize you had only had her such a short time and that she was a rescue dog. That is so wonderful. She certainly looks like a perfect companion for you. I hope you two continue to make each other so happy for a long, long time! ;D
Sounds like Laika hit the jackpot with you...big time! ;DA short brief story of her is:
