...we are going to a Rally Show n Go in Chattanooga! ;D
This is a prelude to the trial they're having in October. I'm really hoping Angus does OK. I'm not going to enter until I see how tomorrow goes.
I'm trying to decide if I should try and take him through the course just as I would in a trial, and use it as a pulse check, or if I should be out there with treats and corrections. Thoughts? We are signed up for two runs.
Connie and "The Boys":
Angus, Yellow Lab, CGC, RE, CD
Simon, d.b.a. Flat Coated Retriever, CGC, RE, CD
Gone ahead, but forever in my heart:
Crash, Pit Bull x Rottweiler x Golden Retriever
If it were me, I'd try as* though it were a trial first, and then resort to treats and corrections if needed. Rally is pretty lenient anyways, so I'm sure you and Angus will do well to start with, without the treats and corrections.

I know nothing about rally or agility, but I just wanted to wish you and Angus good luck!

If I were working Kona I would probably do the first run as if it were a trial but be ready to change that immediately if I needed to (he needed help or a correction).
The second run I would probably work on trouble areas and use the treats/corrections as needed.
In Rally you can use praise until you're blue in the face so I would use that in both runs.

I would try running them as if they were trials... what great practice!
Henery and I went to a rally workshop last weekend, and they set up a run at the end. I took Henery through on leash the first time, but since we're now in Advanced here, I thought I should try him off-leash for the 2nd run. Except for send over jump, which he doesn't know, he did quite well.
The key thing she taught us was to trust our dog.*
Have fun tomorrow!!!! ;D

No advice but good luck whatever you decide! I live in Memphis...too bad Chattanooga isn't closer!
Ah, you're gonna be so close! If I wasn't so lazy, I'd come watch. Let me know in advance next time you will be in Chattanooga ...![]()
Sandy, October 21 and 22 ;D![]()
Don't feel pressure to come, of course. But if you did that would be so cool! Let me know if you're really bored and needing somewhere to go that weekend![]()
