Vaginal bleeding and discharge in a spayed dog?

Today Jaida and I took a little trip to the vet, as she had vaginal bleeding and discharge. She was running a fever, and the vet had no idea what could be wrong with her. He took blood for a panel and a urine sample, which also had blood in it, and we will hear back tommorrow morning. Poor girl...she has been running a fever and just sleeping all day. Poor me...I just steam cleaned my carpets last night! I just hope its nothing serious. I was thinking maybe cystitis or perhaps even complications if any part of her uterus was left during her spay.

Ideas? Suggestions?

Hmmm that's pretty weird sounding. I have no clues or suggestions but I'll keep Jaida in my thoughts

I don't know about the temperature, but if part of the uterus was left, I believe there are similar symptoms as to what you describe. How long ago was she spayed?

A couple of years ago, which is why it would seem strange for that to be causing issues. ???
