When Sam and I leave my house, I hand him his leash (no commands, just hand it to him) and he proudly carries it to the front door, where he sits and waits for me to attach it. This past Sunday I took him with me to my office where I had to print some things, and when I got ready to leave I thought I’d see if he’d carry his leash down the hall to the back door like he does at home. Totally different area, but the basic idea of "we're going somewhere" was there. And yes, he would. No problem. Took the leash, walked down the long hall, sat by the back door. However, when we got to the door, I realized I probably ought to walk back thru the office and be sure he hadn’t done anything to anything, so we came back into the main area, him with his leash attached and dragging. Everything is okay. We turned around to go back down the hall, and he picked up his leash again (even to it was attached) and walked himself to the door!
i don't know if this really qualifies as a brag.......but he was cute!

Good job Sam! You are so smart!
My uncles first chocolate lab would open the fridge and get him a beer.* then when he was done he would take it to the trash!* He was the best dog I have EVER seen with my own eyes.Originally Posted by jzgrlduff

DH was MAD. I cut off what I thought might have dog spit in it, but from then on whenever we had the ground meat, he would grumble and say "wonder which end I'm eating?"
