What a start to the day ... at 4 a.m. Sami started in with vomiting and diarrhea.* She has done nothing but lay down in between bouts.* She looks so sad it's just breaking my heart. She has been drinking water, but within a few minutes she throws up again.* At this point it's just white and foamy.* I can't imagine anything is left in her system.
Any advice?* Does this sound like she needs to see a vet?*
UPDATE #2:* I picked Sami up at 7:00 tonight.* The pockets of gas did move so they feel there is not an obstruction.* Really I don't think we have a clear answer as to what is going on.* Except that I perhaps own the lab w/ the world's most sensitive stomach.* *She did not have any vomitting or diarrhea at the vet (of course).* I came home w/ Flagyl and Panacur, oh, and a bill of $400.* Oh well, it's only money, right?* I can't tell you how much I missed her today ... She is still lethargic -- hopefully she'll be better tomorrow, but they told me to give it at least a couple of days.
UPDATE #1:* Well, Sami had x-rays but they did not reveal an obstruction.* Apparently though some obstructions don't show up very well on x-rays (like sticks).* They said she had pockets of gas and an inflammed intestional wall.* So they are going to administer fluids and are keeping her until tonight.* They want to repeat the x-rays and hope to see that the gas pockets have moved (which would also mean no obstruction).* *Assuming the x-ray doesn't show anything alarming, I'm to pick her up later tonight.* The vet did say that she really doesn't seem to feel well and she is just laying in her crate.* Oh, forgot to say they are giving me a broad-spectrum de-wormer (Panacur) just in case it's Giardia.
Thank you for all of your good thoughts.
My Bobbie threw up yesterday but she was fine straight after and running around so if it keeps happening and she is lethargic then i would say take her to the vet. Best not to take any chances.
Hope she is ok, let us know :-\
You need to go to the vet... have to think about dehydration... also is your doggie drooling? I think you really need to go to the vet... better to be safe then sorry... not even keeping down water could lead to dehydration.
She is not drooling. But here is the best description I can give of her being lethargic: she wont' even follow me into the kitchen![]()
GO TO THE VET!
Dogs can get very dehydrated quickly and hard to rehydrate once they get there

I would take to emergency vet.. don't wait for appointment... the risk of dehydration is too high....
On my way ...
THANKS
Let us know what they find out I hope it's nothing but it's much better to find out for sure.
