Cinnamon is 17 months old and has bright brilliant white teeth except I noticed the small one in the front right next to her canine is much darker almost a tan color.* It doesn't bother her she let me touch it and all.* It is not loose.* It is one of those really small teeth they have in the front on the bottom.*
I am thinking about making her an appointment and taking her to her vet.* I wonder if she did something to damage it.* I hadn't noticed it before even when I brush her teeth.* My dad says it has been that color for a while.* She was to the vet earlier in the month for her yearly shots and she went over her mouth and didn't say anything.* I wounder if she saw it as it is normally hidden by her lip.*

Sounds like she killed the nerve. My Hoover has a canine tooth that is Tan. Have it looked at at the next visit. Check it often to see if it is loose. If her breath is foul take her in to the vet right away. if she shows and discomfort take her to the vet. Hoover's has been "Dead" for 2 years now and doesn't bother him at all. I am aware it might have to be removed but as long as it doesn't bother him I am leaving it be.
In people, a dark tooth is due to the iron component of blood leaking out of the pulp and into the surrounding tooth tissues. This is often secondary to some sort of trauma which may have occured some time ago. Whether this is the same in doggie teeth, I'm not sure, but since the anatomy of both are fairly similar, I would think so.

Henrys mom is right I think , my husband just took Ruger our almost 2year old to vet and he decribed the same thing and called it a blood tooth, I had never noticed it before that day and we decided that maybe he had gotten it playing tug of war or bitey face with his brother
