What does it mean when your dog starts dripping urine? My lab is 6 yrs of age, and I thought I noticed it in the past, but pushed it off as maybe he had to go to the bathroom, and it had been awhile since he just went out. This morning (was out an hour prior), he is laying on his dog bed. Has a white cover, so very obvious when there is a quarter size pee spot, where he is laying. He is obviously dripping urine. I plan on calling the vets, but prepare me this isn't anything major is it?
It shouldn't be anything too major. It could be a UTI or it could be incontinence. Either one needs a vet visit. Make sure you bring a urine sample with you.

I contacted the vet, said I could bring him in and they could start him on meds, or I could bring in a first morning sample in the morning. I am not one to jump to meds without a diagnosis, so going to bring in a sample in the morning. Hoping just a UTI, but started thinking stones, etc...and started to worry. Thank for your response.
It could be a UTI but Rocky has this issue for awhile. After a very good long play he would leak in his sleep. Had a few discussions with the vet after we determined it was not a UTI and it was probably just loosening of the muscle as he slept hard. It eventually went away. It comes back now and then but always goes away.
