I've been meaning to ask for some time now how you built your house. Did you come up with the plans yourself or did you purchase it from a cabin builder? I love it and that is what we are looking to build in the next 5 years. BTW the dog is handsome too!

Here is a link to pictures of our home. Some things have changed as these were taken ten months ago. The home was built by a man whose parents were in the logging business in upper Michigan. The logs were hand selected 24"-32" old-growth massive red pine. The logs were taken from the Pidgeon River National Forest. He built the home and then decided to sell it for whatever personal reasons he had. It is five years old. I think we were very lucky to stumble upon it when we were looking for a retirement home in July of 2008. We had not planned on something bigger than what we had in Texas but we fell in love with the house and the property.

We've actually stayed in a few vac homes like that. Thats what made me fall in love with that style of home! Gorgeous...just gorgeous....
