He was on guard duty out on the front patio. Someone just walked past with another dog.
This is the view of the street from where he was:
And from his level:
So any other dog would run down the patio keeping the offending dog in sight while still barking at it right?
Not my Bear! He ran inside & went out the dog door to the back yard so he could "chase" it down the road. This was his view of the other dog:
The worst part was he took Buzz with him so now he's training him to be as stoopid as he is. Great pair of guard dogs I've got!![]()

I see this a different way. They knew that the person going by wasn't a threat. They are smart, you just don't give them enough credit.

Lol! Poor Bear.
He was tracking the "intruder" by scent, rather than sight. He would have been on the scene immediately had the intruder made it on 'his' turf. ...plus he had back up !!!

Would you like to buy a vowel ?
I think he realized the dog posed no threat.Definately not stupid.....just smart enough to know when to bark.
I agree on the scent theory. LOL
(a side: Yesterday, Zoe wanted to go out the front door for her walk; we always go from the garage. Well, it turns out that Anela, her black lab neighbor escaped and I think she could smell her)
Good nose, Bear!

He's smarter than you think. I can't tell you how often my blonds outsmart me.
