Having lost Riley just over 2 years ago I had adjusted to any easier life with only one dog. Less hair, less muddy footprints, easier to organise trips out........Then someone told me of an abandoned puppy , then I saw a photo, then I said ok I'll have a look at her... then she came home! I'm not sure if she is 100 % lab, her habits and traits say she is, but she is very sweet and loving, and rapidly learning house rules... which so far don't seem to include food. I wondered where that loaf of bread went this morning, I knew what had happened to my husbands new slippers a few days ago, and my boots that I stupidly left out..then there was the rubbish all over the kitchen floor tonight, which she vehemently denied touching, but the evidence is rather condemning!
I know its humanising but she just seems so grateful. Life is suddenly Good, too good to be true, it is like she is scared it will be taken from her again. I sit, she sits on my foot, I move around the room; I have a Siamese twin glued to my hip. Cheka is enjoying having a companion even if sometimes she wishes she wasnt being chewed all day and made to play bitey face... then they butt tuck together and you know they have "clicked".

Abbey is beautiful and sounds like a character - love the pic of her sleeping in the cat bed!
