Build a doghouse for Hershe

So I decided to build a doghouse for my 3 month of black lab puppy, Hershe. I found a how-to-online, but if you're like me a photo guide will be very beneficial. materials include:

skill saw
drill
phillips head drill bit
drill bit for screws, screws
6 2x4x12
3 4x8 1/2in plywood
nails
shingles

Aw! Hershe is going to love it! I think it is a very good idea to build a dog house!

That was fun I bet. It looks good, ....however no photos of Hershe. Do you not put in insulation. That would help keep the heat out on warm days and the warmth in on cool days. U would have to put in an interior wall though. I want to build a bird house. Everytime I tell my husband that I want to build a bird house he builds me another one. LOL. I don't think he want me near his tools.

Sophie's "doghouse" is our 1500 square foot house.....her bed is between us....

Here is a picture of Hershe enjoying her doghouse. Yes if does protect her from the elements. There is also a tarp above her kennel (2x the protection).

I made this thread so people could see a visual step by step process of me building a doghouse. As for the indoor/outdoor argument there are other threads we can go to debate that topic. Please keep this forum to doghouse related topics. If anyone else has built a doghouse on their own, I'd love to see it. Always looking for an excuse to build something whether its a bookcase or doghouse.

Been viewing this site for some time, and though I'd join. There is some information I'd like to share about my lab, but there is still a lot I can learn because others have been doing this far longer. When we get past the "chewing stage" we'll see about being an inside dog.
